About GovBenefitsHelp

Our Mission

GovBenefitsHelp exists for one reason: to help Americans navigate government assistance programs. Every year, billions of dollars in federal and state benefits go unclaimed because people either don't know they qualify or can't find clear, reliable information about how to apply.

We research eligibility requirements, income limits, and application processes for programs like SNAP, Medicaid, Section 8 housing, LIHEAP energy assistance, WIC, and Lifeline phone service. Then we present that information in plain language, organized by state, so you can find what applies to your situation.

Who We Are

Julian Hincapie — Founder & Benefits Research Director

Julian Hincapie founded GovBenefitsHelp after years of working in business funding and financial services. Through that work, he saw firsthand how many Americans struggle to access the financial support they need — not because they don't qualify, but because the information is scattered across dozens of government websites with inconsistent formats and outdated data.

That experience led to a straightforward idea: build a single resource where people can quickly understand which benefit programs they may be eligible for, what the income limits are in their state, and exactly how to apply. No jargon, no sales pitch — just accurate, well-sourced information.

Julian oversees all content research, editorial standards, and data accuracy across the site. Every guide published on GovBenefitsHelp is reviewed against official government sources before publication and updated regularly as program rules change.

What We Do

  • Research eligibility requirements for 80+ federal and state benefit programs across all 50 states
  • Track income limits and program updates as they change throughout the year
  • Provide state-specific guides with local office information and direct links to official application portals
  • Maintain a free benefits screener that helps you identify programs you may qualify for based on your household information

Our Standards

All content on GovBenefitsHelp is sourced from official government agencies including the USDA, HUD, CMS, and state benefit offices.
